I'm sure we've all had that kitchen obsession at some point. I've been from baking cupcakes to the perfect frosting, college dorm microwaved food to healthy green eating. Now here I am, blissfully in love with my slow cooker.
The amount of delicious recipes seems never ending. Everyday I dedicate some time to searching for something new and never come up short. After a little tweaking and love, I'm ready to serve a yummy dinner or desserts to my family. Let's just say, they never fail to ask for seconds!
Here is tonight's latest!
Ingredients
❤ 1 box triple chocolate fudge cake mix
❤ 2 cups milk
❤ 1 1/4 cups water
❤ 1/2 cup vegetable oil
❤ 3 eggs
❤ 1 box (4-serving size) instant chocolate pudding
❤ 2 cups milk chocolate chips (12 oz bag)
Directions
❤ Spray slow cooker with cooking spray.
❤ In mixing bowl add cake mix, water, vegetable oil and eggs.
❤ Beat with an electric mixer.
❤ Poor evenly into slow cooker and turn on low heat.
❤ In a separate mixing bowl add pudding mix and milk.
❤ Whisk until smooth.
❤ Poor pudding mix into slow cooker on top of cake batter as
evenly as possible.
❤ DO NOT MIX. ❤
❤ Layer chocolate chips over the top.
❤ Cover with lid and DO NOT REMOVE until at least 2.5 hours
into slow cooking.
❤ Slow cook time could vary based on slow cooker. It should
be done between 2.5-4 hours.
❤ The cake is done when it looks mostly solid and the pudding
is beginning to bubble out of the top of the cake.
Side Notes
❤ The amount of water and milk you add is very important, if
you add too much the cake will be more liquid than solid.
❤ This isn't a cake meant to be cut and served. You will spoon
it out so it won't stay in a perfect form.
❤ I checked to see if it was done with a wooden skewer. it came
out clean on the bottom and top and gooey in the middle.
❤ Warning! VERY chocolatey (as that is the main ingredient) so
take in small servings.
❤ Best served with vanilla ice cream ❤
Try it out and let us know what you think!
What could be done to improve the recipe?
What did you think of the consistency?
Was it too much chocolate to handle?
❤Katy
